somewhat skewed operating process that runs the usa....they feel that since the property always goes up in value that said govt is also entitled to a share of that up profit too.

On farmland the afore thought and taxation may be fair too ( unless we chnage our system some ).
Keep in mind there's tons of farm program and E dough handed out annually which by rights perhaps makes the usa govt almost an equal partner in many agri operations today.
That govt dough directly supports land values, thus the govt IS perhaps entitled to get some back.

Maybe a pretty good deal for those many supposed "special entities."
For everyone else it's pretty darn stinky really.
