NW Ohio,near Findlay | We had a 3208 Cat in a Chevy dump truck in the 90's at work, this was way before I had my 3208 Cat in my L8000. It had trouble like yours, anyway we took it to a Cat dealership in Toledo, Oh. When it runs and warmed up, it run perfect, no miss, no low power. Next morning, same darn thing. Service manager knew exactly what was bad, said not the pressure side of system, that system either it runs or never runs. Was only a seal in the lift pump section of the injector pump, sucking air. They fixed it, and run fine for at least 15 years after that. Point is they only fixed what was needed, not the complete change out, rebuild of the injector pump. Seems now they don't want to look for the simple things, just rebuild pump from factory. | |
