My grandmother who was at least a 1/4 Cherokee (she said-looked more like a Plains indian to me -I think she was a half breed) always kept onions and garlic on her kitchen table. On many occasions, I saw her pick one or the other up and eat it raw,regardless of how hot the onion was. Don't ever remember her even having a cold. | |
