Mascoutah, Illinois
I would put us at 99.5% complete with a handful of farmers with a problem. They still have 28-30% moisture corn standing with no means to dry it. Some wheat got sown before the big rains in October and most of it was put in a second time only to have the same result in November. Wheat fields are going to be very few and far between down here. I would put fall tillage at less than 1% complete as everyone was scrambling to finish up their combining. We have standing water in the fields after the rain we received on Tuesday. We are so dern wet down here it will take some sort of perfect weather scenario to get some fall tillage done.
We ended up with a few snow flurries today with the wind being the bigger story.
The lines at the elevators along the Mississippi River in St. Louis are the longest I have seen in the past three years. I am assuming everyone and their brother had corn contracted for December delivery.
