Subject: RE: Capacity of John Deere 943 Running Gear

Thanks very much for the offer.

I'm going to put the smallest rim/wheels I can on the 943 running gear. I have a very small seed potato operation so we mainly work with 1/2 bushel plastic harvest totes. When they're level full they're about 30 lbs each and I don't think I'll often put more than 100 totes on the wagon at a time. Since these totes are designed to stack, the lower I can get the deck the higher the crew can stack the totes while walking next to the tractor. I'm leaning towards 13" trailer rims with low profile tires on them since I'd like to keep the top of the deck 28" or lower.

At the same auction I also purchased a much heavier duty M-F Running gear which came with 15" Ag rims. When I bring that wagon back to life I may contact you for a rim or two so I can have a spare. The closest tire shop is 80 miles from the farm so a spare can save a lot of travel.

Thanks, Jeff
