Subject: I have had a great deal of self doubt along the way

I look at these articles and they make a great deal of sense - yes common sense. Yet, I then look at the markets and try to find the correlation and can't quite figure out why they seem to be doing the exact opposite (except for gold). What are others seeing that I'm not - driving the stock market up??? There is something that just doesn't "feel" right about the whole thing, but then I think maybe I'm just being too negative and my bias is costing me money?

Maybe the speculators are looking at the companies and even with sales down the corporations have adjusted and therefore are still healthy?

Based on that second article I would think those banks in Chile, Brazil, and Korea would be scared to death that they don't have something to fall back on like gold, but maybe they see something I don't? Of course if they are wrong we could easily break them, as well.
