The data here in Canada has shown that car turn around time has not significantly changed with the reduction in car loading points, elevators with full train spots, enhancements at unloading and railbed improvements.

The Railroads have their best bargaining power when Rail supply is deficient- if our two Railways had excess capacity, they would have to cut prices.

But they have found it to be more profitable to cut capacity- a lot of the double tracking paid for by the Federal govt to enhance transportation back in the early 80's has been torn up!

Sure makes sense to me!
