Subject: Re: Shipping by rail question

Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska
I'm on a Coop board and we have two locations for unit train load out...110 car unit trains. It may have changed but generally the going rate for the 110 unit trains is $600/car less than 54's and $1,000/car less than individual.
The price shows up at those locations of being about 12 to 15 cents higher in price than the other locations.
The rail companies can bring in the 110 car units and never split them and you must be able to load them in usually 15 hours. It keeps their trains moving instead of having to go different places to put a train together. It's all about efficiencies.
