The best advice I can give you is Dave Ramsey. He is a no nonsense financial advisor who does a national radio show. I have followed his advice in personal and business finances and believe he is very good. Some of the insurance things are just schemes when you understand them fully and he breaks everything down in a simple way. I think his website is daveramsey.com, but I'm sure you can search and find it if not. He has written several books that are also good, Financial Peace is one of the best.
