Tom, I agree 100% with you. Investing in what you enjoy and make money on is the best of both worlds. Diversification is good to an extent. Wife and I put about every available penny we had (and then some) into land through the years. We bought land both as a source of income and an investment. Through the years the cheaper land helped pay for the more expensive. I also worked off the farm for years to pay living expenses and to enable us to use all the farm generated income to reinvest in more farmland. Looking back, I am glad we did it that way. I never did care much for stocks and other investments. I enjoy farming and owning land much more than other types of investing. Life i is about making a living but it is a blessing to be able to make a living doing something you really enjoy. |
