Do vultures migrate in the winter?

Migration. ... In North America, these Vultures are more migratory in the West than in the East, and many western birds are long-distance migrants that spend the winter in Central and South America. Turkey Vultures soar and glide extensively on thermals and mountain updrafts while migrating.

Are black vultures federally protected?

Vultures are migratory birds, Federally protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, which is administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
