Subject: govt. loan info

Southeast Colorado
When you use the govt. loan on grain you have to make the decision whether to claim the income in the same year you put it under loan, or the year you redeem the loan and actually sell the grain. After you decide the first time, you cannot change your mind in subsequent years. You have to stick with that system of accounting from then on. You cannot bounce back and forth to assist your income tax situation. I'm just throwing this out there for info in case anyone isn't aware of this.
