NE | I bought this last winter, its in a Pete 379. Been rebuilt top to bottom, have the paperwork. It was set at I believe 450 HP. I have a frieghtliner with a C-12 at 435 HP that will walk all over it. Sooooo, naturally I say let's just turn this thing up. Bring it to my local guy and he flashes it to 525. No difference. I bring it back and he sets it to 575. He mentions that there are codes and asks if engine light was on. I say no, he says maybe its burned out or removed. Sure enough, its removed. I put one back in, drive off, go load grain, get into it a little and this thing is screaming! Its what I thought it should be. Within 2 miles the check engine light comes on and it instantly derates to where it was before. Call my guy and he said its an emissions thing ( naturally) and probably has to do with the valves settings. He also mentioned deleting the emissions and all those problems will disappear. Does anyone have a similar experience to this? Am I better off deleting or fixing the emissions problem? | |
