| being from and in coastal Washington state I know a little about fish. If it smells fishy it's bad. If you can see the entire fish look for clear eyes and red gills. Feel the flesh, if it's slimy it's bad. Fresh fish should smell like the ocean, nothing else. Flash frozen fish is always consistent. It's not as flavorful as fresh, but it's never bad. Most flash frozen fish is processed right on the boats, or immediately at the docks. | |
