I ran into this decision a couple years ago, when I could no longer do any import/downloads, and begn getting a continuous stream of reminders to update.
Since I have used Quicken for my records for around 30 years, I decided that for <$5/month, I had enough time invested to stick with it regardless of the annual subscription. There are Quicken Deluxe specials out there for $31.19 for "beginners". After that it is an annual subscription. I have a Quicken Deluxe subscription, which is apparently now at $51.99 ($2 increase from last yr). Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents worth.
