That is true. Many molecules had different isomers where one is active and another is not. With metolachlor, the S-isomer is the active one. I know that we sell a product where one isomer is very active for improving nitrogen use where the other isomer of the same molecule is not but does aid in herbicide recovery.

So, to answer your question, yes, the isomer is important. The introduction of this isomer in a product was when they went from Dual to Dual II and Bicep to Bicep II.

Edit: The weed control between the two was equal, just a higher rate for that product that was not selected for only the S Isomer.
