Subject: RE: 6620 Battery Disconnect (pics)

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
I too am installing battery disconnects on machinery as time allows. My 8310R tractor and 9770 combine each came with one from the factory. I was able to install one in my Eagle truck. The truck has four batteries connected in parallel. This is a stretched semi tractor converted to a straight truck. The truck has an electric tarp and third axle control which were grounded directly to the batteries. I moved those grounds to a common chassis point and installed a battery disconnect switch between the batteries and the common chassis ground point.

Then by switching the battery disconnect to the "OFF" position nothing is attached to the negative terminals of any battery. The only down side is that my radio loses its presets and the time in incorrect.
