Subject: BMR Corn Silage

Huron county Ontario Canada
Does BMR corn silage for dairy cows pay? We milk about 70 cows and currently feed about 30 acres worth of corn silage in a year(non BMR). How many more acres will we need to feed if we grow a BMR? Considering I don't process the silage right now would I be better to spend my money putting a processor on the chopper ($8000) or would I get more production from growing BMR? Not sure I can afford to do both right now.

I have heard the yield drag on BMR is 10%. Is this about right for our area where we get about 2800 CHU's?

Thanks
