4MSU - 7/29/2009 23:01 Thinking about buying a camper. It is a 25ft 2000 Forest River Salem LTD 5th wheel, has a slide out that I believe is 16ft. The camper is owned by a friend of my father-in-laws. Was told the camper was only used on two trips and husband passed away. Inside of camper looks new outside has a couple dents supposedly where wife hit it with lawn mower. The price is $5500 with hitch included. My question is does anyone know anything about these campers? Is this a good price? It seems like it is compared to the few I have seen on the Internet. Is there anything I should look out for? Fairly new to campimg, thinking that it would be a good way to spend more time with wife and kids. NADA lists average retail at 5230 for the model you listed. You didn't say if it was stored inside or out but you'll need to inspect for water leaks and expect quite a bit wrong just from not being used. You'll need new tires too I'd imagine. A pretty safe bet is to expect to spend some money getting it up to snuff. |
