When my mother died in 1997 she had all her military papers in one place for me. A Veteran of WW11 she served from 42-45 in N. Africa, Sicily and Italy. Theirs was the first field hospitot an nurses to land after both invasions. She used to tell me the only this country owes me is a headstone and no matter how it takes I want you to get it for me. Took a year and a half before we got it placed on her grave, but I did what she wanted.
