Nwmo | You need to change the resolution on your computer to match the native resolution of your new monitor. I don't know what 20" monitors are but for instance 22" monitors are 1680x1050. This will make it so nothing is stretched and let you see more screen than your old monitor would let you.
Probably 1600 x 900. Left click on your desktop and select properties, then change your display resolution to 1600 x 900 and see if that doesn't look better.
