Subject: Re: Farm Bureau

Lancing, TN
We used to have fb insurance. Don't anymore! The local agent ( now retired) was impossible to deal with. Would not insure our semi's! Told us we were a corporation and not a farm ( we are a s-corp now, but we weren't then) - said farmers didn't have 3-4 semi's. I said he must not get out much and left. They have a new agent now and we had him requote our policy last year - over double what we were currently paying. Around here fb does not want to insure a farmer who might do something that could result in a claim - they want to insure "farmers" with 20 head of cattle that make 1 trip with a stock trailer per year to the stock barn. That allows them to get their "farmer insurance" discount so they can turn around and insure john doe and his 1 acre house and make a killing. Maybe I am speaking out of line, but our experience has been FB insurance wants the Farm name, but runs hard from selling Farm insurance!
