Here in the plains 1/8th seems to be fairly standard. If you sign a lease I would add the stipulation that any drilling operation must use portable mud pits unless you want a lot of soil screwed with and relocated for no definite benefit. Of course also make sure they are responsible for 100% of the cleanup cost in the event of non-production or ceasing of production.
