Near Richmond, IN | Don't feel to bad Mark. Last year I bought my parents house in May, after the March 1 assessment date, and this year the taxes are approx. $2100 on a $115,000 value house. Last year when my parents lived in it on March 1 the tax was about $550. They removed all the deductions when it transferred to me even though it was assessed and they lived in it on March 1. The assessment didn't change much but all the deductions disappeared. Surprise, Surprise. Isn't Daniels and our legislators wonderful. | |
