Alton, Ia | Old vehicle 18 MPG combined or less, 1984 or newer.
New vehicle + 4 MPG combined above old = $3500
+10 MPG = $4500
All MPG's are from the EPA website, your personal experience doesn't matter. They crush the vehicle, so you probably won't get anything for trade other than the credit. Looked a little to replace my run around vehicle, but it's at 18 MPG, and there's nothing I want to have above 22. Plus new is that NEW, I usually buy slightly used, let somebody else eat the drive off depreciation.
