That would be 7.5 (row spacing) X 6 (number of rows that I use for test) / 12 (convert to feet) X 95.5 (circumference of the drive wheel in inches) X 10 (number of turns that I turn the wheel for the test) / 12 (convert to inches) / 43560 (square feet in an acre) X desired seed population (after the increase for the germination) / seed count (seeds per pound) X 16 (conver to ounces). If you use the same number of rows (6) in the test and turn the drive wheel ten turns then the equation is reduced to 0.109619 X (Population / 3000). If you spend the time to adjust it right the drill should come pretty darn close to the desired population.


Edit: Reread your post. With only one row, shooting for 195,000 - 200,000 you should be catching 1.187 - 1.218 ounces of seed in ten turns.
