I used to run sickles, but now own a rotary. The regrowth is the same with either a sickle or a rotary. Makes absolutely no difference. A sickle will cut better if you have gopher hills. Sure the rotary won't plug up but it will also leave a patch of uncut hay after every gopher hill. Either one will do a good job if they are set up correctly. But for 2-300 acres a sickle will do everything you need and be cheaper than a rotary.
