The lock you are referring to in front is the locking colar for the bearing, not for the boom. It should be turned tight against the bearing to prevent the bearing from turning on the shaft. Before you do this, I would suggest folding your booms forward, so the boom slides forward on the shaft as far as it will go. Then tighten your collar. After that, take the bolt out of the back side of the shaft and remove the ring it goes through. Shim the area up behind the back bearing so when you reinstall the bolt and ring, the boom will not have tolerance to tilt back like it is. In other words, use the back of the bearing to prevent the roll-back, not the front bearing locking colar. That is what I picture on our 4710. I am unfamilier with the 4720 but assume it is the same.
