you can always put both on your older heads .2208 are for older combines 14 series through 2588, 2408 are for 7010-8010- AND NEW 88 series, you can convert either head for your application, i am assuming you have an older machine and need a 2208. 2408 can be converted with an adapter but the auto header potents are different and the 2408 dont have 2 speed gearbox on in put shaft.
