Subject: Re: 8810 bourgault questions

Manitoba Canada
We run 2 8810's with series 25 mid-row banders and 5440 carts, they are 54 feet 5 section units and have never seen a welder yet. The one unit is a 2001, the other is a 2004. Both units will have done a minimum of 5000 acres a year since new. These are 9.8 inch spacing machines and we use the Bourgault 3 inch carbide wing openers on one and the Bourgault 1 inch carbide tip on the other. This year we replaced a few hoses and greased regularly and thats it, pretty low matinece machines. The one thing is to keep really good highway service 10 or 12 ply good year or firestone tires on the main frame. Other then that we had a 1 inch shaft on the one cart snap so we lost a couple of hours so were pretty happy if thats all the trouble we had. We tried a phd 3310 out and arnt sure what will be left of that unit in 10 years, there is a lot of hoses there, so i dont think our 8810's will be going anywhere.
