Subject: My fusable link story.

Lapel, In
International Harvester was having a dealer showing of their brand new 1206 (I think) and they asked the dealer I was working for to bring the first brand new model 4520 to the Indiana State Fairgrounds where the showing was being held. Deere consented and we took the tractor to their showing. A short time later, I got the service call. The 4520 was DEAD .Would do nothing. Having never heard of a fusable link before , all I saw was a wiring harness that I saw nothing wrong with.It had not burned into. Could find nothing wrong on a new model tractor that I was not familiar with.Had me stumped. Only after a call to Waterloo did I find out about a fusable link. Cut the wire and installed a fuse in the line and it strted right up. Being a person that bled green blood, it was an embarassing moment for me. lol.
