| Do you have a price range in which you are shopping and any specific requirements (horsepower, PTO, 3pt, hydraulic flow requirements, etc.). First, not all track tractors are created equal, so the answer to your first question depends on the make as well as the model of what you are looking at. Speaking in wide generalities, however, oil leaks at the midwheels, bogey seals, idlers and rear driver hubs are what you want to look for - these need to be inspected from time to time (some more than others). Also, you want to look for damage to the belts (tears, cracks, exposed steel cables, etc.) as well as any evidence of belt misalignment (worn guide blocks or peeling rubber on midwheels and such). I would second the recommendation to look at Cats, but would still like to know a little more about your intended application. | |
