If the only differance is poly, no, I would not spend the money. If you are looking for a newer head, yes, go poly.
We went from tin to poly and would not go back, but the head itself is better. (from a 974 to a 996 New Holland) my old head was wore out. And the 996 has adjustable deck plates and has a lower profile.
