I am using e-set plates....  I was using talc.
OK, that makes a difference in the answer.  First, don't use straight talc.  Use 80% talc 20% graphite. You can sometimes buy it at farm supply stores, buy from Precision Planting, or make your own.

Check the  ... I think it is called a doubles eliminator or singulator.  The weird shaped thing in  the photo below.  Make sure the hold down spring is in the right place.  I had repeated problems with one meter until I figured it out.

edit:  OH!  And call them and talk to them about your problems.  I have yet to call them and ask a question they did not answer politely.
