Machinery is the best place to invest money on the farm provided you plan to wear it out using it to make money...and not buying brand new stuff helps, too.

If you are just going to let it set in a shed and wax it and make sure it never gets a scratch on it, then it's not so good an investment.  

Don't get me wrong...I like the things we can do because of some of the money we have spent on technology...I just wish it would remain useful for twenty years like our iron does.
