I pull mine with a JD8300 FWD. When notilling in hills, (mine are not very steep) and seed hopper and fertilizer tanks full, wouldn't want much less in front but it handles it fine. I should mention that I run fertilizer coulters about 3-4" deep when planting corn...makes a big difference when I take them off to plant beans...pulls much easier then. I only work one hilly farm and this was the first year I planted corn there...was surprised how hard the planter pulled going up the hills with the fert. coulters on...never noticed it much planting beans the with same planter but no fert. coulters on. Pull mine about 5MPH in corn and 5.5-6 in beans in 10 and 11th gears/probably 1/2 to 3/4 throttle.
