True. But, having gone from a 12 row to a 24, I cannot plant twice as many acres in a day. Part of this is already mentioned, with trucount clutches you can do a great job but that bigger toolbar is still going over ground the second time. Also there are times I could jump across the road or thru a creek crossing without folding a 12 row, time that is always lost with the 24. But I am dealing with odd shaped fields that maybe average 30 to 40 acres, if we farmed square quarters I might be more on the other side of the argument. I promise you, if you plant a 6 acre triangle with a 48 row, it will not be 4 times as productive there as a twelve row.
