Subject: RE: OK, Plz go over it once more

Central Ohio
Ok, let me try to answer as many of these questions as possible.

1. The 8x30 and 8x20 rear fender work lamps that I bought from JD (see part number in pict) are a Trapezoidal pattern. They trow longer, but spread out slower than a flood pattern. I figured since that is what Deere includes on their tractors it would work for what I wanted. My air seeder is a ways back because the cart is in between so the trap pattern will have time to spread out. And yes, it is the 9005 bulb fitting on those lights. I found this out from looking at one at JD parts, from this forum, and the fact that this work lamp is made by JW Speaker, not JD and uses universal type fittings. You can actually see it on Speaker's website, I think it is the 7001 work lamp or something like that.

2. As far as lights built into the hood or grill, if you have a sealed beam, you need to replace the entire lens and housing and bulb. If you have a replaceable bulb, all you need is the HID bulb/ballast kit (each kit contains 2 of everything, since most kits are for cars) for the universially numbered fitting of your housing. NOT JD's part number or GE's part number. Rather, 9005, 9006, H1, H4, ETC. The same type of numbers you would find if you were trying to replace the bulb in your car's headlamp and were looking for it on the AutoZone shelf.

3. I think the trap pattern is what you will want for the front of your tractor. Of course if you are using your hood lights, it is predetermined for you.

4. Not all of these conversion kits are created equal. You can find a blue billion of them on Ebay, most shipping from Hong Kong and other parts of eastern Asia. I chose DDM Tuning because they got great reviews amongst the BMW tuning crowd of which I am an alum, I got 2 real live people on the phone when I called the very first time, and it seems to be the truth that they are part owners in a factory where they make these things and that is why their prices are good.

5. Also, see above post that their website said out of stock when I ordered mine too, but it was mistake, so you can try to give them a call.
