| We had one for about a year and we liked it but it just didn't fit into our cattle feeding operation very well. It won't chop hay as finely as a flail processor like a Vermeer but we did feel like it processed the hay enough that the cows got better use out of it. I was able to find a one year old model that had only been used on about a hundred bales for less than half price which is why we ended up with the REM and we never had any complaints with the machine itself. Our issue with the bale processor was if we fed more than a days worth at a time the cows would lay in the hay and waste it, I felt like to really make the best use out of it we needed fence line bunks so we could feed 2-3 days worth at a time and not have it get wasted and in my opinion if we were to make that kind of investment in bunks and feeding time we really needed to go to a TMR to get the full use out of it. | |
