If you look at how a tube fails the bottom of the tube collapses inward toward the center of the tube while the sides tend to widen and become distorted. Any substance that would make it more difficult for the tube to become distorted will add a substantial amount of strength to the tube.

Take two lengths copper tubing and bend it roughly similar to the bend in the Farmtek piping. Fill one with a substance that will harden and leave the other hollow. Apply pressure to the ends of the tubes and you will see that the filled tube will have a gained substantial amount of strength.
