I've got to agree with the 1000 foot remark.... With the sand and rock we have here, they scour up pretty quick.
What I do when I'm done is wipe the boards down clean with a rag, dry... and then paint with the cheapest damn paint I can find in a rattle can at walmart or wherever I'm in at the time. Cheap paint is often soft... so it scours off pretty quick in the spring. Cheap paint is also cheaper than grease...
