Subject: My situation was the same as paul's

It was hard as hell to start. We'd been ripping with it and the blow by got terrible and the tractor was probably using at least 3qts a day. JD Mech said pump was keeping it moving well, he said it was turned up 30% and would be scared to leave it like that on a rebuilt engine. Turned it down to 10 %. Looked at old engine guts today at dealer and one piston had a broken ring and the sleeve had a groove in it towards the top of it. He'd also said it looked like the previous owner had put a new turbo on it, which lead to the loose hose clamp. Oh well, I guess. Now I have a Like-new 4650 MFWD. Still can't believe it pulled that ripper so well. JD mechanic asked If I'd figured out a way to add a 500 gal fuel tank, after all of the fuel usage LOL.
