A good metal detector would check for hardware and also tree could be sawed off above fence line to dodge hardware if any. Blue streaks will show up if had staple, nail or wire in it when you saw it off. Pallet makers should be a market. My opinion of tree it is one of the varieties of cotton wood. Food for thought.
