Pocahontas, IA | I never said my time was worthless--you said labor should be accounted for at shop rate--which means to me $70-$80/ hour. The payback from labor to keep a planter in top performance is cheap and is a must after every season of use no matter how old. So I guess your "stupid" comment does not apply to us who maintain our own planter. In fact stupid might apply to those who do other things than work on the planter. "No offense, but it sure sounds like you need to concentrate on finding something productive to do with your time. Perhaps that is rebuilding a junk planter, or perhaps it is something else, you'll have to figure that out on your own. " I am offended because I have read all the attitude that you lay on other people and then try to act innocent. You sure don't know what I do in my other "jobs" to make that statement!
