SE South Dakota | My two cent on the over gross weight. Over gross likely had nothing to do with the accident. Fuel burn would have lowered weight to under gross but maybe not under it's certified landing weight. Aircraft probably is limited to how much weight he can land with. IMO he could have been under that weight as the accident happened. But the center of gravity could have been too far aft(back) by say all the adults in the back end?? This could make the aircraft very hard to control, esp at lower approach airspeeds. On approach it's all about airspeed control. | |
