Where Lewis and Clark finished the rum
Univ of Montana, Northern at Havre, Mt did a lot of 4x4 tractor draft work in the 80's and 90's. The used a load sensor, as I recall. Would be interesting to hook that load sensor to datalogger and combine gps location. Actually, I'm pretty sure that they had a datalogging system, so just hooking a timestamp to it or merging the datastreams shouldn't be too hard for someone who knew what they were doing. I've emailed one of the principles of the project, hope to hear back from him.
