I could be wrong & I'm betting there's somewhere here that knows, but I think the draft sensing mechanism on 3pt is just a strain gauge on one of the main pins. The technology has been around quite a while. Not sure who had it first. Now it's electronic vs the mechanical linkage of 45 yrs ago.

But-you're right, that could be incorporated into fixed hitches somehow.

In the fall, our Insight isn't data logging much...it might as well measure load.
