| My uncle had a farm sale a couple years ago. Happy with what most everything brought, except his 1086. His newest tractor, and it was in pretty good shape. These tractors are notoriously bad for shifting problems, but my uncle adjusted the shifter every winter and never had a problem. He even adjusted it before the sale. He went to start it up before they sold it, and when he let off the clutch it was in gear even though the shifter was in park(or neutral? I don't remember if the 86s had park). There was one amishman at the sale, and he stole that tractor. Found out later several people had seen him in the tractor shifting it. I'm convinced he speed shifted it till it was messed up in order to get a deal on it. I had an open line of credit from my uncle and could buy whatever I wanted. I should have raised my hand a couple times on that tractor and sold it private.
