Sw mn | I just turn it by hand. If you pipe is long just put the coil by your feet and lean against the bench and the coil itself keeps the pipe from turning. But if your piece is short clamp it to something like a vice. Also about a month ago I found a pipe treader and was thinking of making it powered.
Here is a pic of how to cut the bolt. Take a angle grinder with a 1/4" disc and cut in from both sides. Then when left with just a wedge use a chainsaw file to get sharper.
The bolt angle in the pipe determine s the thickness of spiral. I like 3/4"-1"
