Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | That should be possible with a relay given that the relay is heavy enough. It would be quite expensive. This would require leaving the key circuit active so that it could activate the relay. This would somewhat defeat the idea of having the disconnect.
My Deere 8310R came with a factory disconnect switch kit. This style of switch was used on Cat tractors. It consists of a switch with a removable handle on a small chain. On this tractor, the switch is mounted under the cab door. When I shut the switch off, I remove it and the chain is long enough that I can lay the handle on the top step to the cab. I always place it there. That way I will see it as I crawl into the tractor and am reminded to turn the power back on before I crawl in.
My Deere 9770 combine has one in the battery box. More than once I've had to crawl back out and turn the switch ON. I now try to check the switch before I crawl up into the cab. I suppose it would be possible to replace the switch with a relay and run a hot circuit into the cab that would allow me to control from the cab. During season, I don't turn the disconnect off although I suppose it would be a good idea from a fire standpoint.
